Sofia Balas
Sofia Balas has a Masters degree in Fine Arts from the National Academy of Arts in Bulgaria and lives in Cripple Creek, CO. Her education gave her the opportunity to experiment with many different mediums and techniques. At their core, all of her paintings start with a deep sense of feeling. She draws her inspiration from nature along with the world around her and the vibrant colors inherent in nature. Sofia develops her images by working with multiple layers of thin paint in acrylics and she constantly explores different methods to express and portray subjects in highly imaginative styles. She covers a broad spectrum to include traditional and contemporary approaches.
